What's it about?

This is a guided sightseeing tour that combines luxury travel with the adventures of camping in beautiful New Zealand. We tramp (trek) into and explore the South Island's diverse and rugged landscapes with it's unique wildlife such as the Kea (the only mountain parrot in the world), seals, dolphins, whales, wekas and other bird life and plant life. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, which has the flexibility to get the most from the local conditions and having a lot of fun on the way.

Guides

Have a vast array of outdoor skills. Are chosen for their knowledge and friendly nature. Safety is a priority.

Transport

High spec bus especially designed for camping, large enough for both comfort and to get best possible views. Hot and cold drinks available on route. [see picture of Bus on Home page]

Camping Facilities

We provide high quality tents, large enough to stand up in, with comfortable mattresses. Sleeping arrangements on a share tent basis, but individual tents will also be available. Most nights hot showers are available, those that aren’t there is a lake or river close by.

What makes us unique

2 guides per trip, safety. Large capacity bus with only 12 people. All inclusive apart from 3 meals. Camping 6 nights (weather permitting for one or, perhaps two of the nights). Relaxed pace.

Food

Healthily Kiwi based meals i.e plenty of fresh fruit, veges like Kumara (Kiwi potato), pumpkin, fish and shellfish (mussels, paua) and good selection of meat. Provisions also made for vegetarians (let us know when booking).

How fit do you need to be?

Can be as physical as you want it to be. Couch potatoes are welcome. We carry mountain bikes , kayaks and other activities such as volleyball, touch rugby. All free to use as you like. Tour is group orientated, on occasion you may have to lend a hand to help with tents and food.

What you need to Bring

Good sleeping bag, back-pack, day-pack, raincoat, sunhat & screen warm pullover. (If you don’t have any particular item, we can provide. Just let us know when booking)
